Summary of the week
More like a daily journal
Sunday - 10 Mar
I kicked off my day at 7:50 am with an energetic badminton session alongside my dad, lasting a delightful hour. Following a refreshing shower, I treated myself to a satisfying breakfast of Dim Sum, all while enjoying the movie 'Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman.'
The afternoon saw me continuing my study of ICAEW Accountancy, focusing on the last chapter titled 'Chapter 15: Sole trader and partnership financial statements under UK GAAP.' Despite the occasional distractions brought about by my mobile phoneโindulging in games and novel readingโI wrapped up my study session, albeit leaving the practice questions halfway. After another rejuvenating shower, I engaged in a phone call with my mom, stretching for almost 2 hours. As the clock struck 12:30 am, I called it a day.
๐Rating of productiveness: 2.9/5๐
I attempted to stick to my planned schedule, focusing on studying Accountancy, but unfortunately, I couldn't squeeze in time for Japanese learning. The evening was occupied with a call to my mom, and I won't categorize that as intentional procrastination.
๐Rating of happiness: 3.8/5 ๐
I savored some delicious food courtesy of my dad and kicked off the morning with a round of badminton, followed by watching an intriguing Korean movie. While the morning brought joy, the studying sessions, interspersed with occasional naps as a procrastination tactic, didn't leave me feeling too accomplished. Despite that, I don't have many complaints about how the day unfolded.
Monday - 11 Mar
I got up a bit later than usual today at 8 am because I couldn't resist hitting the snooze button on my watch. I'm not sure why, but I felt unusually tired for the day. After preparing meals, I went back to bed and scrolled through my phone, procrastinating on exercising. Finally, at 9:30 am, I managed to get through my exercise routine. After having breakfast and playing some mobile games, I took another nap. Upon waking up for lunch, I dedicated some time to practicing questions for the last chapter of accountancy and summarizing my notes. With the basic accountancy study wrapped up, I switched gears to the Assurance study manual, delving into the first chapter on the concept of and need for assurance. After finishing this chapter, I had dinner and took a shower. To cap off the day, I continued writing my book review on 'Someday Is Today' by Matthew Dicks, a task I really should have completed sooner.
๐Rating of productiveness: 3.2/5๐
My morning wasn't very productive because I kept giving in to unnecessary naps, messing up my sleep schedule. Honestly, the bed was just too comfy, and I regretted it because I felt even more tired afterward. On the bright side, I had a pretty solid study session in the afternoon, wrapping up my ICAEW Accountancy study and starting the study on Assurance.
๐Rating of happiness: 3.5/5๐
Completing the ICAEW Accountancy module brought me a sense of accomplishment, and now I'm diving into the study of Assurance. The initial chapter proved to be straightforward, introducing key concepts. Through a combination of memorization and note-taking, I managed to gain a solid understanding of the introductory material. I'm optimistic about maintaining this momentum and aiming to progress through the subject at a quicker pace.
Tuesday - 12 Mar
I woke up at 8 am today, and after my usual morning routine, I couldn't resist the coziness of my bed, so I took a little nap. Once up, I delved into studying Assurance, conquering notes and exercises for Chapter 2 and the notes for Chapter 3. It wasn't overly challenging, but there was a fair bit of content to cover. A big shoutout to my sister's friend for leaving behind some helpful notes โ they made a difference. Wrapping up my study session at 7:30 pm, I proceeded with dinner and a refreshing shower. Post that, I continued crafting my book review for 'Someday Is Today' by Matthew Dicks, and voilร , I completed the blog post. Shortly after, I called it a day.
๐Rating of productiveness: 3.3/5๐
I wasn't incredibly productive today, but I'm happy with the headway I made in my Assurance study and the fact that I completed the book review blog.
๐Rating of happiness: 3.0/5๐
I felt constantly tired after the nap during afternoon, but the night was fine, and I was pleased with another peaceful day passing by.
Wednesday - 13 Mar
I rose from my bed at 8 am, geared up to prepare my sister's meals. After this, I found myself comfortably reclining and scrolling through my phone until 9:40 am. I kicked off my exercise routine of bicep curls and squats. Following a refreshing shower and a hearty oatmeal breakfast, I succumbed to a brief nap while awaiting the updates for Genshin Impact. Upon waking, I found the game updated and promptly dived into some gameplay before lunch. More procrastination ensued before I finally committed to updating my website around 1:15 pm. I dedicated the subsequent hours to studying Assurance, finishing Chapter 3 and skimming through Chapter 4. During this time, I stumbled upon a valuable resource โ the YouTube channel 'AmandaLovesToAudit'. I express gratitude for the existence of such educational videos, perfectly aligning with my preferred auditory learning style. Though still a novice, I'm content with the progress I've made in understanding the subject.
I continued my day by listening to the audiobook 'Archer's Voice' by Mia Sheridan, completing the last 5% of the book. With the conclusion of that, I stumbled upon another promising self-help book titled 'Ikigai' by Hรฉctor Garcรญa and Francesc Miralles, which I'm eagerly anticipating in the upcoming days. Before wrapping up the day, I dedicated some time to editing a blog outlining a designed action plan, inspired by the insights gleaned from the book 'Someday Is Today' by Matthew Dicks.
๐Rating of productiveness: 3.5/5๐
While I made decent headway in my Assurance studies, website updates, and book reading, I can't shake off the dissatisfaction lingering from the unproductive morning I experienced today.
๐Rating of happiness: 3.3/5๐
Today unfolded as a rather uneventful day while I occupied the house solo. However, I found delight in stumbling upon a new YouTube channel, which I can count on for my upcoming Assurance study sessions. Additionally, I achieved the feat of finishing a book.
Thursday - 14 Mar
I rose at 7:45 am, first taking care of my sister's meals before watching YouTube videos until 10 am. Following this, I commenced my morning workout routine of bridges and twists while listening to the audiobook "Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life" by Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia. After shower and breakfast, I spent some time gaming before attempting a meditation session. A brief nap ensued before I embarked on my studies in Assurance at 1 pm. Taking a lunch break and some leisure, I delved back into my studies, successfully completing chapters 4 and 5, along with related exercises and note-taking.
My study session proved productive, especially as I consciously minimized multitasking, resulting in heightened efficiency. After dinner and another shower, I allowed myself another thirty minutes of entertainment. Returning to my tasks, I resumed editing my Action Plan, inspired by Matthew Dicks's book. Once I posted the two blogs, I dedicated time to furthering my knowledge of stock trading through Adam Khoo's resources. Wrapping up my day with final edits to tomorrow's schedule, I concluded a fulfilling and productive day.
๐Rating of productiveness: 3.8/5๐
Today saw a boost in my productivity compared to previous days. I had a fruitful afternoon diving into the world of Assurance, followed by an evening spent writing blogs and delving into stocks trading. However, the morning was a bit of a write-off as I got lost in entertainment.
๐Rating of happiness: 4.2/5๐
Listening to the new audiobook 'Ikigai' brought me a sense of inner peace and inspired me to embark on a day filled with self-improvement activities.
Friday - 15 Mar
Today began much like yesterday, with me rising at 8 am. Following my routine, I prepared breakfast for my sister before succumbing to the temptation of procrastination. It was once again YouTube videos that captured my attention as I delayed my workout. After breakfast and Genshin Impact gameplay, I started my study of Assurance at 1 pm. With a brief intermission for lunch, I immersed myself in the material until 7:30 pm, covering Chapters 6 and 7. Thanks to Professor Amanda's enlightening lectures on YouTube, I felt confident in my understanding of the subject matter.
Following dinner and relaxation, I resumed my exploration of stock trading techniques with Adam Khoo. Additionally, I took a moment to review my investment portfolio. Wrapping up the day's activities, I recorded my progress before calling it a night.
๐Rating of productiveness: 3.4/5๐
Today's productivity took a hit compared to yesterday. I found myself procrastinating for longer stretches in both the morning and evening, losing track of time while engrossed in YouTube and games. However, the afternoon proved to be a fruitful study session. I've noticed that reading "Ikigai" has a soothing effect on my mind, although I've completed this short book. Now, I've embarked on a new audiobook journey with "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" by Joseph Murphy.
๐Rating of happiness: 3.9/5๐
It was a rather neutral day for me, but I must admit I'm disappointed with myself for only getting into my official productive hours in the afternoon. I think it's time for me to reconsider my morning routine to cut down on wasted hours.
Saturday - 16 Mar
After rising at 8 am, I kicked off my day with breakfast prep, followed by a leisurely scroll through YouTube until 9:30 am. A quick shower and a bowl of oatmeal fueled me up for the day ahead. After that, I played Genshin for a bit before heading out with my sister for a doctor's appointment. Hungry but unable to focus on anything productive, I passed the time listening to an audiobook and catching up on the latest episode of the anime 'The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick up Trash'.
After what felt like an eternity in the waiting room and collecting our prescribed medications, we treated ourselves to a satisfying lunch at Sushi Ya-Riโa must-visit for sushi lovers on a budget. Post-lunch activities included a sweet tooth indulgence and a trip to the grocery store for essentials. By the time I sorted through the groceries and freshened up, the clock had already struck 8 pm. A brief period of relaxation ensued before dinner, and after that I managed to squeeze in some writing for my investment-focused blog. Wrapping up the day with a few final updates, I bid adieu to another week of break before university.
๐Rating of productiveness: 1.5/5๐
I didn't accomplish much in the morning and afternoon, but I made an effort to be productive at night.
๐Rating of happiness: 4.4/5๐
Today was filled with enjoyment as I indulged in delicious meals and stocked up on sweets and chocolates to savor later. However, overeating left me feeling a bit down, reminding me of the advice shared in the book 'Ikigai,' which suggests stopping at 80% fullness. Unfortunately, I didn't heed that advice today.
