Summary of the week

More like a daily journal

Summary chart from 28 Jan to 3 Feb

Sunday - 17 Mar

After rising at 7:50 am, I kicked off my day by preparing oatmeal and squeezing in a workout while tuning in to the audiobook 'The Power of Your Subconscious Mind' by Joseph Murphy. After shower, I watched Nile Red's latest video, where he transformed styrofoam into cinnamon candy. The chemistry behind it was interesting, involving the breakdown of poly-styrene into styrene and the addition of an aldehyde group to the alkene. It was a nostalgic trip back to high school chemistry lessons, which was easily recalled with a little stimulation.

Next on the agenda was setting up my weekly calendar and putting the finishing touches on my post about stock investment watchlists before hitting publish. After a McDonald's lunch, I took some downtime for a nap and then studied Chapter 8 of 'Assurance on Employee Cost'. Following dinner and shower, I allowed myself to unwind until I dove into Adam Khoo's stocks trading course, wrapping up my Sunday on a productive note.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 2.2/5🌟
I posted one blog, studied one chapter of Assurance and learnt some trading for the day. I wasn't thinking too much on achieving productivity for the day but I didn't completely slack the entire day either.

🌟Rating of happiness: 3.5/5 πŸŒŸ
I was glad to watch a new video by Nile Red, and his content is always knowledgeable and amusing as usual. The consumption of McDonald's, edamame and onigiri for meals were also quite fulfilling, and I had a good Sunday overall.

Monday - 18 Mar

I rose from my bed at 8 am today, implementing the tips I gleaned from the book 'The Power of the Subconscious Mind,' which advocates filling your mind with positive messages daily to harness the power of your subconscious for goal achievement. I've decided to incorporate this 'prayer ritual of sorts' into my daily routine to observe its effects. Following this, I prepared meals before diving into my exercise routine, all the listening to the audiobook 'The Power of the Subconscious Mind.' After a shower and breakfast, I played Genshin Impact in an extended session due to its latest updates. After lunch, I delved into studying Chapters 9 and 10 of my Assurance book. I wrapped up my study session and took a well-deserved break, rediscovering my yoyo skills. Attempting to learn new tricks via YouTube proved fruitless, prompting me to turn to Bilibili for tutorials. Although the process was both enjoyable and frustrating, I had to pause as my fingers turned purple from the tight yoyo string constricting them with each launch.

As hunger pangs set in, I paused for dinner, followed by a shower and a recap of my day's activities. Later in the evening, I studied Adam Khoo's stock trading course at 9:30 pm, concluding my session two hours later. With my day's activities duly noted, I retired to bed for the night, feeling accomplished and eager for what tomorrow may bring.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 4.1/5🌟
Today proved to be quite productive as I managed to cover my targeted chapters for Assurance, indulge in some yoyo tricks, prepare and savor my desired meals, and dedicate a solid 2 hours to learning about stock trading. However, I must admit that my morning was significantly sidetracked by playing Genshin Impact. Recognizing this, I've made a pledge to limit my gaming time tomorrow to ensure better focus on my tasks.

🌟Rating of happiness: 4.2/5🌟
I had a blast with the great content in Genshin Impact, made good progress with my Assurance studies, and even dusted off my yoyo skills after ages. While there wasn't anything particularly exciting happening, I still managed to have a fantastic day right in my own room.

Tuesday - 19 Mar

After waking up at 7:45 am, I kicked off my morning routine with some "praying to my subconscious mind" and meal prep. However, I took an unexpected detour into procrastination, losing track of time until 11:30 am, thanks to an indulgence in useless YouTube shorts. Feeling a pang of regret, I finally got around to my exercise routine after a quick shower and breakfast.

By 1 pm, I was ready to dive into my Assurance studies. However, battling a wave of drowsiness, I succumbed to a nap before lunch. Post-nap refuel, I resumed my Assurance studies, tackling the weighty Chapter 11, which focused on Evidence and Sampling. Despite the dense content inducing bouts of boredom, I soldiered on, completing exercises and notes for the chapter by 8:15 pm. I managed to squeeze in meals and a bit of yoyo practice amidst the study grind. Transitioning to evening activities, I continued my study on stock trading, only to find myself ensnared in a coding rabbit hole while attempting to customize my scanners. Frustrated by my lack of progress, I called it quits for the day, wrapping up with a consolidation of the day's endeavors.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 3.3/5🌟
While I only managed to finish one chapter of my Assurance study today, I still deserve a pat on the back considering the heavy content it covered compared to other chapters. Despite a slow and unproductive start to the morning, I picked up momentum and regained productivity later in the day.

🌟Rating of happiness: 3.4/5🌟
I didn't feel too thrilled about my morning, but I found joy in the meals I prepared and the new things I learned about assurance and trading. However, the weather wasn't doing me any favors. I was taken aback when I saw the 'Excessive heat' warning on the weather app, which made it hard to focus with all the discomfort from the sweltering heat.

Wednesday - 20 Mar

Upon rising at 7:45 am, I did my morning routine, focusing on priming my subconscious mind, preparing meals, and engaging in a workout session that included bicep curls and squats. Following a refreshing shower and breakfast, I indulged in some Genshin gameplay before continuing my studies on Assurance. Surprisingly, I managed to avoid procrastination during the morning, which was a first for the week.

Throughout the day, I took periodic breaks, utilizing the time to listen to the audiobook 'Beyond Wealth' by Alexander Green while practicing my Yoyo skills. Although I couldn't resist a bit of online window shopping and watching YouTube videos, I significantly reduced the frequency compared to yesterday. By 8:30 pm, I had successfully covered Chapters 12 and 13 of my study material. After that, I practiced some cardistry tricks, though I found myself nursing sore thumbs and pinkies after attempting the 'Double Lift' trick. Later in the evening, I enjoyed a supper of noodles before resuming my studies in stock trading at 11 pm. With my day concluded, I took a moment to reflect on the day's accomplishments.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 4.3/5🌟
Today was quite productive for me, with both my morning and afternoon packed with meaningful activities. While my evening was a bit more relaxed, I still managed to stick to my agenda and enjoyed the activities, whether it was playing with my Yoyo, practicing cardistry tricks, or stumbling upon a random 'What is Philosophy' video by Crash Course.

🌟Rating of happiness: 4.1/5🌟
I was pleased with my progress in studying yoyo and cardistry tricks. However, I felt a sense of emptiness while browsing through YouTube content. I found myself skipping or jumping between videos, unable to find anything truly engaging. Fortunately, I rediscovered some informative channels like 'Economics Explained' and 'Crash Course' which helped alleviate my boredom. I'm hopeful to come across more quality content on YouTube in the days to come.

Thursday - 21 Mar

After rising at 7:45 am, I dove into my morning routine, which involved priming my subconscious mind and preparing meals. Despite intending to start my workout early, I found myself procrastinating until 10am. I pondered why I kept putting off such simple exercises like bridges and stretching. Following my workout, I practiced Japanese on Duolingo, and login to Genshin. I also squeezed in some online shopping before continuing my Assurance study. Chapter 14 proved to be a breeze, and I wrapped it up before lunch.

Chapter 15, on the other hand, was a marathon. During breaks, I dabbled in yoyo tricks and brushed up on my Japanese skills. By day's end, I completed the study manual and did half of the exercises for Chapter 15. In the evening, I shifted gears to my stock trading studies, putting into practice the strategies I had learned. Afterward, I devoted some time to Japanese learning before winding down for the day.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 3.9/5🌟
The day turned out to be quite productive, except for the morning hours. I dedicated time to studying 1.5 chapters for Assurance, feeling confident about wrapping up my study on it by tomorrow. This marks a significant achievement for the month. However, I realize the need to reinforce what I've learned so far, as the dense content hasn't fully sunk in yet. Additionally, I delved into studying Japanese today after coming across some helpful free websites. During breaks, I also practiced the new yoyo trick I learned two days ago.

🌟Rating of happiness: 4.3/5🌟
I felt really excited because I ordered something cool online! Can't wait for it to arrive so I can make the most of it. Plus, I'm pumped to finish my Assurance study before March wraps up. I even got back into my Japanese learning today. All in all, a pretty fantastic day.

Friday - 22 Mar

After rising at 7:45 am, I kicked off my day with the usual morning routine, prepping meals while listening to the audiobook 'Radical Joy for Hard Times' by Trebbe Johnson. After a bit of procrastination, I did my workout consisting of pushups and core exercises, followed by a refreshing shower. Then, it was back to studying Assurance, a task that was left hanging yesterday. During study breaks, I indulged in some yoyo and cardistry practice, adding a dash of fun to the day. By 6:30 pm, I triumphantly wrapped up Chapters 15 and 16 of Assurance, marking the completion of my study manual and practices well ahead of schedule – a goal achieved one week before April. With that milestone reached, I've set my sights on revising both Accounting and Assurance next week, along with pursuing other interests. The evening slid into a leisurely pace as I lounged on my bed, occasionally tuning into Crash Course on Philosophy during dinner. As the night deepened, I delved into writing a blog post chronicling my 2023 internship journey, a task that occupied my attention until bedtime.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 3.5/5🌟
Today wasn't my most productive study day. I knew I would finish my studying by day's end, so my brain didn't feel the urgency. That led to some procrastination, not my finest moment, I'll admit. But hey, I did manage to squeeze in some yoyo and cardistry practice, and even started on a new blog post. So, all in all, not a total loss in the productivity department.

🌟Rating of happiness: 3.6/5🌟
Today passed by without any notable events, maintaining a neutral vibe throughout. However, a dip in mood could be attributed to the audiobook I was listening to, centered on environmentalism and humanity's impact on the planet. Its somber tone didn't exactly uplift my spirits, especially since I spent most of my free time engrossed in its narrative.

Saturday - 23 Mar

After doing some subconcious mind priming, I left my bed at 8am to prepare breakfast and did my exercise routine of bicep curls and squats while listening to the audiobook 'Radical Joy for Hard Times' by Trebbe Johnson. After shower and some Genshin playing, I continued the writing of the blog on my internship experience and published it at 2pm. Followed by that was lunch and a long break until 4pm. I continued the edit of my weekly updates and other blogs, and for dinner we ate bak kut teh (a pork rib dish) sponsored by my dad :> After that, it was a long talk with my mom through phone call and family talking time with my dad. Followed by that, I wrote the blog on quarterly review of set goals and consolidated my day.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 4.2/5🌟
I kicked off the day with some solid writing sessions, both in the morning and afternoon. Later, I had a wonderful chat with my family in the evening, which was truly refreshing. It felt productive to spend the day without getting lost in endless phone scrolling, staying focused on more meaningful activities instead.

🌟Rating of happiness: 4.4/5🌟
Today was a delightful blend of blogging and quality family moments. I'm thankful for the delicious food and the serene conversations with my loved ones that filled the day with happiness.
