Summary of the week

More like a daily journal

Sunday - 18 Feb

I woke up at 7:45 am and kicked off the day with a round of Genshin. Following that, I delved into my weekly planning session and proceeded with the ongoing journey of learning financial accounting, specifically focusing on calculating different asset depreciations. Lunchtime was accompanied by the enjoyment of 'The Apothecary Diaries' until Episode 19. I indulged in a nap for a little over an hour after that.

After a solid one-hour nap, my sister and I embarked on a grocery shopping and dinner adventure. In between, I managed to squeeze in more financial accounting learning. Post-cleaning, ingredient preparation, and a refreshing shower, I concluded my accounting endeavors for the day. To cap off the evening, I engaged in some note-taking while tuning in to the audiobook titled 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,' which I had playing in the background during my vegetable and meat cutting session earlier.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 3/5🌟
I wasn't particularly productive during the day, except for dedicating an hour to studying accountancy. It wasn't until 7 pm when I kicked off an audiobook session while prepping food ingredients for the week. I made sure to jot down some key points from the book before heading to bed.

🌟Rating of happiness: 4.4/5 πŸŒŸ
I'm pretty happy with watching 'The Apothecary Diary' anime, the hotpot I had, and the audiobook I listened to. The values from the little stories really conveyed important lessons. I feel fortunate to have encountered them now, but more importantly, to implement them in my daily life.

Monday - 19 Feb

I started my day at 7:45 am, diving into meal preparation while tuning in to the new audiobook 'Sapiens' by Yuval Noah Harari. Following that, I engaged in some exercise with pushups and leg raises. While enjoying my breakfast, I delved into the world of Genshin. The day continued with a session on financial accounting, where I explored the intricacies of different liabilities related to bond issuance. After a satisfying lunch, I dedicated time to edit a video detailing the consolidation of my internship. A brief nap recharged me before I organized my luggage and wardrobe. Following a refreshing shower and a light dinner, I wrapped up the day with a deep dive into Texas Instruments (ticker: TXN).

🌟Rating of productiveness: 3.9/5🌟
I had a pretty productive day as I managed to check off everything on my schedule except for an hour of reading. However, I feel like my reading progress was somewhat compensated by listening to an audiobook in the morning. Maybe I could boost my productivity by avoiding an afternoon nap.

🌟Rating of happiness: 3.2/5🌟
It was a typical weekday spent at home, making strides toward my goals. I stumbled upon a new Chinese entertainment novel, which injected some laughter into the breaks between tasks. It was enjoyable, but I need to manage my time and pace my reading of that novel.

Tuesday - 20 Feb

I kicked off my day at 7:45 am with a bit of reluctance as I rose to prepare my meals. Following a 'light' workout featuring bicep curls and squats, a refreshing cold shower energized me for the day. After my oatmeal breakfast, I played Genshin for an hour. When the clock struck 11:09 am, I delved into my financial accounting studies. Today's lesson covered shareholder equity and the preparation of cash flow statements. It turned out to be an extensive study session lasting until 5 pm, with a lunch break squeezed in. Surprisingly, I managed to stay awake today, despite only clocking in 5.5 hours of sleep the night before.

Later, I dedicated time to continue my anime blog and edited the humorous moments from Episode 2 of The Apothecary Diary. After dinner and a bit of procrastination involving reading a Chinese novel, I pressed on with Episode 3. Before calling it a day, I tuned in to a deep dive on The Trade Desk, Verisign, and Veeva. The prognosis? The Trade Desk might not be the best long-term investment, while Verisign and Veeva seem promising with their substantial economic moats.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 4.7/5🌟
I had a quite productive day with minimal procrastination, except during meal hours when I read my Chinese novel and played Genshin in the morning. Well, let's consider it as a little break in the day. I managed to complete everything on my schedule, except for reading and editing the internship video, which I had already finished yesterday. Tomorrow, I plan to engage in active reading other than just passively listening to an audiobook during morning meal preparation and workout.

🌟Rating of happiness: 3/5🌟
The day turned out to be quite mentally exhausting as I managed to stick to my packed schedule. There wasn't anything extraordinary that happened today, just the usual relaxation with Genshin and reading of a Chinese novel. Apart from that, I'm content with my progress made and looking forward to greater improvement.

Wednesday - 21 Feb

I got up at 7:50 am today. Since I didn't have to prepare meals for my sister, I finished my morning routine by 9:40 am, which included making breakfast, exercising, showering, and logging into Genshin. With some extra time on my hands, I decided to get an early start on learning the last module of financial accounting by Tony Bell. I finally completed the 10-hour course on financial statement analysis along with its practices. Following that, I delved into the ICAEW CFAB Accounting study manual and question bank to officially begin my CFAB study. While the 10-hour course was helpful, I realized it fell short in explaining definitions and the differences in financial statement formatting. Despite this, it still proved more manageable than self-reading the entire book. I took notes for chapter 1 and completed the exercises for both chapter 1 and 2. By 8 pm, I concluded my accounting study for the day.

For a relaxing evening, I watched some informative animal videos by Dr. Ann Jones from ABC Science while having dinner and taking a break. To cap off the day, I engaged in a deep dive on Autozone (AZO) and UltaBeauty (ULTA). My analysis led me to the conclusion that AZO is a good but expensive company for my current budget. As for ULTA, I decided not to consider purchasing it unless I've already invested in other companies with a wide economic moat. It was another day of gaining knowledge in terms of analyzing companies.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 4.7/5🌟
Today's productivity was on par with yesterday, with a slight twist. I dedicated more hours in studying accounting, familiarising myself with foreign terms and their definitions. Unfortunately, this meant no time for cardistry or Photoshop learning. However, I wrapped up the day with my routine deep dive into the world of stocks.

🌟Rating of happiness: 3.7/5🌟
I didn't feel as tired compared to yesterday, and I guess it's thanks to the extra hour of sleep and maybe the Hōjicha drink in the afternoon as well. Overall, it was a pleasant day filled with mostly studying and sufficient breaks.

Thursday - 22 Feb

I began my day at 7:45 am with the usual routine – preparing meals while listening to the 'Sapiens' audiobook, a workout involving push-ups and leg raises, followed by a shower. I combined breakfast of oatmeal with a session of Genshin. However, I took a detour from my morning activities and decided to catch up on some sleep, dozing off until 11:30 am. Once awake, I began my study in ICAEW Accounting, covering Chapter 3 and half of Chapter 4. This involved taking notes and working through exercises, a process that occupied my time until around 7:45 pm.

After a post-shower dinner, I procrastinated by reading my Chinese novel. Around 9:40 pm, I shifted my focus to a deep dive on Elevance Health (ELV) and MercadoLibre (MELI), gaining a comprehensive understanding of both companies' businesses. Finally, I continued my book review blog on 'Someday is Today' by Matthew Dicks before calling it a day.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 3.7/5🌟
I made good progress with my ICAEW accounting study today, but I kind of slacked off on other things in my schedule, and I also ended up taking a long nap in the morning ;-; I should be more mindful about extended naps, and speed up my accounting study to free up time for other activities.

🌟Rating of happiness: 3.9/5🌟
I had a blast diving into accounting studies. It's more like gaining knowledge than traditional studying. Plus, I squeezed in a refreshing nap this morning and caught a couple of eye-opening videos on wild animals by Dr. Ann Jones from ABC Science during my break. The wonders of the wild animal kingdom never fail to amaze me!

Friday - 23 Feb

I began my day at 7:45 am with the usual routine – preparing meals while listening to the 'Sapiens' audiobook, a workout involving push-ups and leg raises, followed by a shower. I combined breakfast of oatmeal with a session of Genshin. At 11:20 am, I delved into the second half of Chapter 4 of the ICAEW Accounting book. It took me until 6:30 pm to complete both Chapter 4 and Chapter 5, including tackling the exercises. To be transparent, I encountered some concepts that left me with questions, impacting my progress. However, I plan to resolve these queries with assistance from my sister and additional readings.

Following my study session, I took a break to watch a few YouTube videos, took a shower, and enjoyed a satisfying dinner. Later in the evening, I continued working on my book review for 'Someday is Today.' To cap off the night, I delved into deep dive analyses of Enphase, Winnebago, and Pool stocks. While Winnebago and Pool seem like viable investments, their current prices are a bit steep for my liking. With that, I wrapped up my day around 1 am.

🌟Rating of productiveness: 4.3/5🌟
I had a fairly productive day, but my study progress was a bit slow. Maybe playing music in the background wasn't the best idea for focused studying. I've reassured myself that, even though I had to set aside some of my other interests and couldn't update this website as frequently, establishing a solid foundation in accountancy before heading to university was the main goal I aimed for during this extended break. So, I'm flexible with making adjustments to accommodate slight deviations in my other interests.

🌟Rating of happiness: 2.7/5🌟
Dealing with a pesky red rash spreading across my legs has been quite a distraction during my study sessions. Despite my attempts to ignore it, those histamines aren't making it any easier. :(

Saturday - 24 Feb

I started my day at 7:50 am today. I prepared light oatmeal for breakfast. Following that, I did my warm exercise routine involving bridges and twists while immersing myself in the audiobook 'Sapien'. Afterward, I caught up on the latest episode of 'The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick up Trash' and read some chapters of the Chinese novel.

The highlight of the day was a spontaneous cafe hopping adventure with my sister. We arrived at Lot 10 around noon, where we ate sukiyaki, grilled sticks, and yoghurt ice cream. The experience was both fulfilling and novel, as I rarely embark on such culinary journeys with my close ones. To my surprise, every dish met my expectations.

After cafe hopping, we went snack shopping and eventually found ourselves at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, sipping on comforting hot chocolate. The day continued with grocery shopping, followed by a delightful dinner with my uncle's family and grandmother.

The evening took an entertaining turn as we headed to the cinema to watch 'Spy Γ— Family Code: White'. The movie's blend of laughter and occasional moments of sadness added to the overall enjoyment of the night. I concluded my day with a soothing shower and wrapped up the week by making final updates for this post.

Sukiyaki, Yoghurt ice cube, Spy X Family Code: White

🌟Rating of productiveness: 0.9/5🌟
For the day, I didn't engage in any self-improvement ventures, except sticking to the usual morning exercise routine and grabbing moments to read 'Beyond Wealth: The Road Map to a Rich Life' by Alexander Green during any waits.

🌟Rating of happiness: 4.8/5🌟
I had a fantastic, enjoyable, and fulfilling day, both physically and mentally. Thanks to my sister for suggesting cafe hopping, my uncle for inviting us to dinner, and the premiere of the new Spy Γ— Family movie. Even though I had some minor bickers with my sister, they were within the acceptable range.
