Summary of the week
More like a daily journal
Sunday - 25 Feb
I started my day at 7:45 am, getting up for a shower. However, the temptation to go back to sleep was too strong, and I succumbed, waking up again at 10 am. I managed to fit in some chores by doing laundry and grabbing breakfast. My initial plan to study accountancy took a detour when drowsiness kicked in, and the next thing I knew, it was 3 pm. I had a belated lunch and tidied up the house. The rest of the day was filled with entertainmentβYouTube videos, new Chinese manga, and novels. I wrapped up the day with a quick dinner and more reading. In retrospect, about 95% of the day was dedicated to entertainment, and I should not do this tomorrow.
πRating of productiveness: 0.5/5π
Today was rather uneventful, lacking any significant or productive activities.
πRating of happiness: 3/5 π
While not particularly productive, I did indulge in reading manga and entertainment, which, although excessive, remained enjoyable.
Monday - 26 Feb
I followed my regular morning routine and spent the entire day studying accounting. Surprisingly, Chapter 6 on Control accounts, errors, and suspense accounts took up more time than I anticipated. Working through its extensive question bank, I wrapped up my day at 1 am.
πRating of productiveness: 3.9/5π
Even though I dedicated the entire day to studying, I hit a slump midway, and I feel like my productivity took a nosedive.
πRating of happiness: 3.7/5π
As I completed this relatively challenging chapter, it brought me a sense of satisfaction, accompanied by a hint of impending dread.
Tuesday - 27 Jan
Once again, I stuck to my usual morning routine and studied accounting for the entire day, but this time around, I wrapped up my study session at 11 pm. Today's study session was more enjoyable as Chapter 7 centered around the cost of sales and inventories, bringing in more calculations and making it a bit more engaging than simply grasping the concepts of different accounts. Unfortunately, this meant I didn't get around to the other items on my scheduled to-do list.
πRating of productiveness: 3.9/5π
I maintained a similar level of productivity compared to yesterday. I kicked off the day with high energy and motivation to learn, and it concluded with a sense of relief as I successfully completed one chapter. Unfortunately, the day flew by, leaving me with insufficient time to tackle other tasks.
πRating of happiness: 4/5π
Today brought a greater sense of accomplishment, especially with this chapter feeling a bit more challenging yet way more manageable than the ones before. Each tick on the exercise book contributed to a boost in dopamine levels. However, overall, it turned out to be a relatively uneventful day.
Wednesday - 28 Jan
I got up at 7 am today because my sister and I had to settle a dispute at the consumer tribunal early in the morning. Thankfully, we were able to peacefully resolve the issue regarding the terms. To make the most of the day, we decided to go shopping at Sunway Putra Mall, indulge in a BBQ buffet at Seoul Garden, catch a screening of Madame Web, and pick up some skincare products.
Later in the day, we headed to our local supermarket to purchase a better alternative WIFI plan. Wrapping up my day, I spent the rest of my day completing 'Chapter 8: Irrecoverable Debts and Allowances' of my ICAEW accounting studies.
πRating of productiveness: 2.5/5π
I tried to stay productive on this 'busy' day filled with mall shopping and movie watching. I seized the time by studying accounting while waiting for my sister's tribunal case and listening to an audiobook during the car ride.
πRating of happiness: 4.5/5π
It was a bustling day at the mall, and I had a great time overall. However, the BBQ buffet left me feeling overly full and a bit suffocated in the end, and I was slightly disappointed with the action scenes in the movie Madame Web. :<
Thursday - 29 Feb
I started my day at 7:45 am, following my usual morning routine of preparing meals, exercising, and having breakfast. I completed 'Chapter 9: Accruals and Prepayments' in the ICAEW Accounting book. As the day drew to a close, I read Chinese novels before my bedtime.
πRating of productiveness: 3.0/5π
It was an "okay" day in terms of productivity. I'm making steady progress in my ICAEW Accounting study, but I believe I could have achieved more if I spent less time procrastinating after meals and completed the exercises more efficiently.
πRating of happiness: 3.2/5π
The day wasn't exactly terrible, but it could have been more productive if I hadn't given in to the temptations of gaming and reading novels, and cutting into my mealtime. Let's be honest, it's quite addictive to indulge in entertainment, and I should definitely cut back on that.
Friday - 1 Mar
Today unfolded quite similarly to yesterday, with my focus directed towards delving into 'Chapter 10: Non-current assets and depreciation' of the ICAEW Accounting. Personally, I find this chapter more straightforward than its predecessors, thanks to its reliance on logic that's easier to grasp. Despite my intentions for productivity, I found myself succumbing to procrastination throughout the day. It didn't turn out to be as productive as I would have liked. I did take a glance at my trading platform, but that marked the extent of my activities for the day.
πRating of productiveness: 3.0/5π
I could boost my productivity by updating my neglected website, along with pursuing other activities I'm passionate about. The main hurdle is my tendency to get easily distracted, so maybe I should experiment with keeping my phone at a distance of at least 5 meters.
πRating of happiness: 3.1/5π
The day didn't bring much happiness my way; instead, a kind of emptiness lingered after a bout of procrastination and some lazy moments lying on the bed. Despite that, there's a sense of satisfaction in having completed Chapter 10 of ICAEW Accounting today.
Saturday - 2 Mar
I started my day at 7:45 am today, indulging in a refreshing swim until 9 am. After shower, my sister and I headed to the cinema for the much-anticipated movie, Kung Fu Panda 4, which kept us entertained until noon. We then opted for a noodle restaurant for lunch. Afterward, we went for a grocery shopping spree, and grabbed some onigiri and melon buns on our way home around 4:30 pm.
Feeling a bit weary, I took a 2-hour nap after sorting and prepping the groceries. I then dedicated some time to resume my writing for the long-neglected book review blog on 'Someday Is Today' by Matthew Dicks. To cap off the day, I did numerous lessons on Duolingo as a practice for Japanese.
πRating of productiveness: 2/5π
I didn't get much done today in terms of productivity, and I took quite a long nap in the evening, which left me feeling even more tired afterward.
πRating of happiness: 3.9/5π
The morning swim was fantastic, and Kung Fu Panda 4 turned out even better than I thought. However, we splurged a bit too much on skincare products today, and it left my wallet feeling a little under the weather. The nap went on for too long, making me slightly queasy. Maybe it's time to cut down on those oversized sugary Mixue drinks; the guilt from sipping on such a massive sugary beverage is getting real.
